This is an original, rolled, one-sheet movie poster from 1985 for The Color Purple starring Whoopi Goldberg, Danny Glover, Oprah Winfrey, Margaret Avery, Adolph Caesar, Rae Dawn Chong and Laurence Fishburne. Steven Spielberg directed the film based on the novel by Alice Walker. John Alvin is the artist for the poster.
The poster measures 27" x 40.5" (it has not been trimmed) and is in very good condition with very minor edge wear and a tiny scuff at the top edge of the poster. There is a very small, diagonal crease in the lower-right corner. Unlike most one-sheet posters from this period, it has never been folded.
