This is an original, linen-backed, insert theatrical movie poster from 1965 for Thunderball starring Sean Connery, Claudine Auger, Adolfo Celi, Luciana Paluzzi, Rik Van Nutter, Martine Beswick, Guy Doleman, Molly Peters, and Bernard Lee. Terence Young directed the film. Robert McGinnis and Frank McCarthy are the artists for the poster.
The poster measures 14" x 36" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. It was in very good condition prior to restoration with pinholes from theatrical display, minor edge wear, and a few smudges from handing. The poster was folded at the time of printing and had a light, extra set of horizontal fold lines. The folds are much less noticeable after backing. Linen-backed posters are stored flat and rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). The small black circles in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
This extremely rare and collectible poster, printed in 1965 to promote the initial theatrical release of Ian Fleming's Thunderball, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
