This is an original, linen-backed, first printing, Style A one-sheet movie poster from 1977 for Star Wars. The science fiction classic stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Alec Guinness, James Earl Jones, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker. George Lucas directed the film. Tom Jung is the artist for the poster.
Due to the huge response to the film in 1977, the Style A poster was printed four different times during the initial, theatrical run of Star Wars. This poster is from the very first, and most collectible, printing. It was printed in the United States for use in theaters outside the country and has no MPAA rating box.
The poster measures 27" x 41" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. It was in very good condition prior to restoration with minor edge and fold wear and a few, light surface creases from theatrical display. The poster was folded at the time of printing but the fold lines are barely noticeable after linen-backing. The poster is in excellent condition after backing and will be rolled for for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
