This is an original, one-sheet movie poster from 1964 for a theatrical re-release of The Hustler starring Paul Newman, Jackie Gleason, Piper Laurie, George C. Scott, Myron McCormick, Murray Hamilton, Vincent Gardenia and Jake La Motta. Robert Rossen directed the classic film.
When the film was released in 1961, the studio marketed the film as a romance and downplayed the "pool hustling" plot from fear of turning off movie-goers. Once the movie became a hit, 20th Century Fox re-released the film with the the billiards imagery in this stunning poster.
The poster measures 27" x 41" and is in very good to excellent condition with minimal edge wear from handling. It was folded at the time of printing and there's a pinhole separation at the bottom cross-fold. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.
Please look closely at the photo(this is the exact poster you are buying). The black squares in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
